There are signs that the Japan nuclear crisis is turning a corner and there is some good news creeping out of a rather uncomfortable situation.
Japan, and the whole world, is not yet out of the woods on this one.
There is still #4 reactor that has a hole or crack and is not holding water.
The #3 reactor still has MOX fuel that is still unstable.
There appears to be damage control going on since USAID arrived in Japan to assist with the dissemination of information.
Some are calling it a news blackout. But, it is more like a new ‘grey out’ with the media being very selective about what they release to the public. With this lack of information generally it has become rather quiet in Japan and internationally on this issue.
We can interpret this as good news and that everything is settling down. Or, we can consider that it may be just damage control as happened in the Chernobyl incident.
Only time will tell. But, it there are improvements in the situation it would seem.
